Harold & the Purple Crayon
By Crockett Johnson
Directed by Robin Fonfara
Based on the beloved book series by Crockett Johnson, Harold and the Purple Crayon tells the story of Harold, a curious, imaginative, and resourceful little boy who creates the world he wants to explore by drawing it.
Harold goes to the circus, swims in the sea, takes a rocket ride into space and appears on television all through the magic of his crayon and the wonders of theatre. Harold draws these and more in this original adaptation of the well-known stories.
With the help of his magical crayon, Harold's imagination comes joyfully to life until he meets the villain, Mr. Smudge, who has other plans for Harold's purple crayon. Will Harold get his purple crayon back to complete his drawing adventures?
Harold's magical journey reminds audiences of the marvels that the mind can create and that anything is possible. The only thing he can't draw is you! Get your tickets for a summertime ride that you won't forget.
