OKLAHOMO!

By Ron Collins

Directed by Ron Collins

It's hard to keep a good hoedown. OKLOHOMO! is back for its second run at Broom Street Theater with rewrites that make the show more hilarious than ever. A young runaway flees from his homophobic parents and finds bliss among the eccentric characters at Barb Wire's Rainbow Ranch. From Tammy Whynot, the resident drag queen to Moo, the loveable transgender Holstein cow, there's plenty of campy and bent humor to entertain/offend everyone. There's even a psychic rooster ready and willing to tackle matters of the mind. OKLAHOMO! sinks its teeth into the "boy meets girl" kind of shows with relish and spits it back as a mirror of today's stereotypes in the controversial tempest of politics, religion, and gay culture.
