Nunsense II: The Second Coming
Book, Music and Lyrics by: Dan Goggin
Directed by Jim Butchart
The Little Sisters of Hoboken return in Dan Goggin's musical, Nunsense II: The Second Coming. The same five nuns are back on stage at Mt. Saint Helen's School for a "Thank you" show for their supporters. Forced to work around the set of The Mikado (being presented next week by the local music society) they decide to stick to their succesfful formula and present a variety show. Don't worry if you missed Nunsense I, as Goggin has included a two-minute, entertaining re-cap of the show that sets the tone for the evening's non-stop mania. Sister Mary Leo is an aspiring ballerina trapped in the habit. Sister Robert Anne hails from the "hood" in Brooklyn. Sister Mary Amnesia, is as Reverend Mother puts it, "one sandwich short of a picnic." Sister Mary Hubert and Reverend Mother try to keep the live wires well-grounded. These nuns will have you rolling in the aisle with their wild impersonations, wisecracks, and antics. Audiences of all ages and religous persuasions will enjoy the songs and laughs in this delightful sequel.
