The Laramie Project

By Moises Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theatre Project

Directed by Jeanne Leep

In 1998, Matthew Shepard was kidnapped, beaten, and left to die tied to a fence outside Laramie, Wyoming, because he was gay. In response to this hate crime, the Tectonic Theatre Project conducted interveiws with the community and created this deeply moving theatrical collage, which explores the depths of hate and fear and the heights of compassion and community.
