Fantasy Cabaret

What do Miss Madison, a local newscaster and an opera singer have in common?

In 2000, the Fantasy Cabaret was the brainstorm of Cathy Kaufmann to hold a cabaret-style benefit to bring in the new millennium.  She wanted to welcome the best singing talent in Madison to join in the fun and offer them a chance to sing music they would not be cast for - in essence, granting them wishes. So, we chose the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin as our charity as well. It has been a great match.  Over the past four productions held in 2000, 2002, 2003 and now 2004, we have raised just under $6,000.

This year we continue to feature the musical talents of Kitt Reuter Foss and the comedy of our emcee Joe Thompson.  Our Fantasy Combo returns with the fabulous Susan Mielke as Music Director. Our cast includes veterans such as Wendy Jones, Sharon Brolin, Rebecca Nowacek, Eric Peters, Dawn Marie Svanoe and Cathy Kaufmann along with the talented new faces to the FC- John & Lynn Najem, Lee Waldhart, Taggart & Emmy Johnston and Vincent Rideout and let's not forget Miss Madison Kelly Cramer who wowed us last year. You will hear featured classic broadway of "My Fair Lady", "Sound of Music" and "Porgy and Bess" plus popular songs of broadway from "A Chorus Line", "Les Miserables", "Chess", and "Into the Woods" with a touch of the "Philadelphia Chickens", "Hairspray", Billy Joel and Barry Manilow. Need we say more? PLEASE COME AND JOIN US THIS YEAR!

NOTE: As Cathy Kaufmann is now living in Seattle, we have decided together that this will be the last Fantasy Cabaret.
