By Marty Duhatschek

It's an oft-told tale. A kind and beautiful young girl is mistreated by those around her, but just when things seem darkest she is rescued by magic and the power of love! Cinderella stories have been told for hundreds of years and appear in cultures all over the world. Now Rebel Alliance Theatre adds its own version of the Cinderella Story - an original adaptation written by our own Marty Duhatschek.

Our Cinderella is a comedy that is geared for children, but will appeal to all ages for its witty dialogue and clever story line. While the story will be recognizable to all, Marty has added a few twists and surprises along the way. Rebel Alliance Theatre's production of Cinderella provides a rare experience in today's world - a chance for the whole family to enjoy the magic of live theatre - together!

Rebel Alliance Theatre is a nonprofit, educational theatre program based in Oshkosh. Over the past 9 seasons, we have brought over 500 performances of more than 60 plays to the Oshkosh area. But Rebel is more than just a community theatre group. In addition to providing low cost quality live theatre to the Fox Valley, we also provide educational theatre-based instruction to the youth of the Oshkosh area. Over the years we have run many workshops in acting, set design, technical design, make-up etc. Nearly all the workshops have been free and available to all. Rebel Alliance Theatre provides a much needed outlet for middle and high school aged kids who love the arts and theatre. In these days of shrinking school budgets, especially in the area of the arts, we see our program as a resource for the schools, and are eager for opportunities to work in partnership with the area school systems. Currently our theatre program is without a building to house it, so we are engaged in an on-going fundraising effort to find a permanent home. Achieving this goal is vital to the continuance of our theatre workshop program.
