Bad Seed

By Maxwell Anderson

Directed by Karl Reinhardt

Little Rhoda Penmark is the perfect child. She is well-groomed, a perfect student, and loved by the adults in her life. Oh, and she might also carry a gentic code making her prone to criminal behavior. After a classmate winds up dead at a school picnic, pieces start to fall into place for Rhoda's mother, who has to find out the truth about her beloved daughter, and also answer some disturbing questions about her own hidden past. Bad Seed, written in 1955, is based on the novel by William March. It was made into a hit Broadway show, as well as a four-time Oscar-nominated film.
