Hedwig and the Angry Inch

Book by John Cameron Mitchell and Lyrics by Stephen Trask

Directed by Marcus Truschinski and Eric Nelson

This is the story of an internationally ignored rock star, Hedwig, and her pursuit for freedom and love. Born a boy named Hansel, who one dream is to find his other half, Hedwig reluctantly agrees to submit to a sex change operation in order to marry an American G.I. and get over the Berlin Wall to freedom. Unfortunately, the operation is bungled, leaving her with an "angry inch." This is a piece of groundbreaking theatre that poses the question that all of us grapple with, "Who am I?"
