The Underground Players
The Underground Players mission is to bring contemporary works by newer playwrights to the Driftless Region. At the Underground, you'll see selections often only staged in larger metropolitan areas, not in small town, Wisconsin. We put special emphasis on high standards of acting and directing while minimizing production costs, thus making theater affordable and accessible to all. Our unique space, located in the historic Fortney Hotel, provides an intimate setting that allows the audience to be immersed fully in the ambiance of the production.
The Underground Players produce three full plays each season staged in October, January, and April. Past productions include:
Eurydice by Sara Ruhl
Boom by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb
Why Torture is Wrong and the People Who Love Them by Christopher Durang
Animals and Plants by Adam Rapp
Sirens by Deborah Zoe Laufer
