JPAC Education/Outreach Program
JPAC's Education and Outreach is a new initiative by JPAC's staff and board to further foster a creative community in the Janesville area through youth and adult performing arts education opportunities and as well as events that involve and engage the community. These opportunities and events include: Creative Kids Classes, JPAC Youth Choir, and Created by Kids Productions.
The Janesville Performing Arts Center will serve as the primary performing arts and entertainment center for Janesville and the greater Rock County area, enabling a diverse mix of performances by resident user groups and touring professionals to enhance the quality of life for current patrons and future generations.
The center’s 633 seat theatre, lobby, art gallery, box office, and administrative office are located in the historic Janesville High School/Marshall Junior High School building in downtown Janesville.
Through our partner arts groups the center hosts over 100 public and private events each year. A majority of the performances are presented by community based organizations that provide opportunities for people of all ages to perform onstage and assist backstage. “Live on Main Street” series serves as the presenting organization bringing professional musicians, dance ensembles, children’s theatre, and other performances to the center. Musicals, the symphony, dance, concerts, comedic and dramatic theatre, educational programs, children’s programs, and more – there’s something for everyone at JPAC!
