Overture Center's Capitol Theater
Everything old is new again now that the venerable stagehouse once known as the Oscar Mayer Theatre has reopened as the Capitol Theater. The 1928 venue has received a fresh and improved look and feel, with larger and fewer seats, improved sightlines and acoustics, and improved support spaces.
Significant historic features remain, including the Grand Barton Organ, ornate ceiling, wall niches, proscenium arch and chandelier lighting. The space has become a mid-size performance venue, providing seating for approximately 400 at the orchestra level and up to 600 in the balcony.
The Capitol Theater serves as the home of the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, in addition to a number of CTM, Overture Presents, Overture OnStage, and Duck Soup Cinema performances.

Sound Equipment
The house sound system in Overture Centers Capitol Theater consists of the following: Main left and right speaker arrays covering both main floor (orchestra level) and balcony. These arrays are hidden behind an acoustically transparent scrim in towers located at the proscenium opening. In addition there is a lip fill system inset into the stage lip front. On request, additional subwoofers can be placed inside the proscenium on each side to supplement the low frequency impact the system provides for louder rock shows. The house mix position is located just outside the tech booth door house right at the rear of the house. Mic lines are located DSL, DSR, USL, USR, and orchestra pit. Channels 1 through 36 are transformer isolated split for an on stage monitor mix. Additional XLR tie lines are located throughout the facility. The system is capable of 4 discrete monitor mixes from FOH console or, subject to availability, an on stage monitor mix system is available. BSS SW9088 Soundweb controllers process and route the signal to the required zones and give the operator EQ, delay and compression for each zone as well as providing all system crossovers.
