Wrong for the Part 2015

By various

Directed by Jan Levine Thal

Inspired by Music Theater of Madison's "Miscast," "Wrong for the Part 2015," is the fourth of these fun annual fundraisers for Krass theater. The performance is a short (about an hour) collection of entertaining scenes and monologues, comedy and drama, presented by local actors who've chosen pieces no director would ever choose for them. Men play women, women play men, old play young -- every year brings a new set of surprises.

Auditions will be held on the following days:

Auditions by appointment -- artistic@madwomenstage.org

Ever wanted to play a part no director would choose for you? You're a teenager who longs to play Medea, or a middle-aged man who hankers to be Juliet. YOU choose the role. Or multiple roles.

The only requirements are that you stay within our time limits and you choose a part that isn't right for you. Have fun with it!

Now for the tough talk: We plan a program approximately an hours, no intermission. Monologues 3-4 minutes, scenes 6-8 minutes no exceptions.

Audition Requirements:
Don't need to memorize but please don't read cold. Prepare!
Costumes you provide or none
Props you provide or none
Set consists of chairs. No exceptions.
General theatrical lighting, no specials.
No sound effects that can't be made by other actors.

Rehearsal: One rehearsal, 5pm the evening of the show. It is required, not optional

Gratis: Although Krass policy is at least token pay for actors and techs, in this case nobody will be paid because it's a fundraiser.
