The Night of the Iguana

By Tennessee Williams

Directed by William Brown

This play. This place. These actors. That's the mantra we bring to this twentieth-century classic. Hauling along a group of female faculty from a Bible belt college, a reverend turned tour guide is on the run to a seedy hotel on the remote coast of Mexico. Seems the beleaguered preach has been caught in the breach with a young vixen on the tour. Redemption's at hand when a 40-year-old virgin with an ethereal presence spins a bewitching web round the rev, who's already spinning out of control. Playwright Williams exposes the cruelty of God, nature and humankind in this work, tackling feats of the Devil on wings of language that sings like a choir of angels.
