The Kitchen Witches

By Caroline Smith

Directed by Marcia Meise

Isobel Lomax and Dolly Biddle are two "mature" cable access cooking show hostesses who have hated each other for 30 years, ever since Stephen Biddle dated one and married the other. When circumstances put them together on a TV show called The Kitchen Witches, the insults are flung harder than the food! Dolly's long-suffering TV-producer son Stephen tries to keep them on track, but as long as Dolly's dressing room is one inch closer to the set than Isobel's, it's a losing battle, and the show becomes a rating smash as Dolly and Isobel top both Martha Stewart and Jerry Springer! "Take a handful of animated actors, add a lively and responsive audience, let the plot thicken and you get a savoury show thatt's sure to please even the fussiest palate." The Orangeville Banner

Auditions

Auditions will be held on Wednesday and Thursday January 20 and 21, 7:00 at the Dorf Haus Restaurant in Roxbury.

I will be auditioning for Isobel Lomax, Stephen Biddle and Rob or Robbie the camera guy or girl. Isobel should be in her early 50's, at least 5'5 and be a slender build. She is trained at the Cordon Bleu and enjoyed a successful career. Isobel likes people to think she has a much classier background than reality supports, and always wears the correct accessories. At heart, she is a bright, funny and articulate woman who has come to terms with the choices she made early in life. Stephan Biddle is a nervous, prematurely balding but decent young man in his thirties who is a lover not a fighter. Rob or Robbie tends to dress in Goth syle-possibly with tatoos and muliple piercings and Stephan is a little afraid of him or her. If you think you are a possibility for any of these roles you can contact me by e-mail or phone me. I will be doing personal interviews with those who are interested. Please check the show dates and make sure you are available for those showdates. The show will also be performed at Monk's at the Wilderness April 16,17,18,23,24,25, 2010, so those dates must be available also. For more information contact Marcia at 608-370-1461. My actors are compensated for their performance. Rehearsals will be at the Dorf Haus in Roxbury WI on Wed. and Thurs. evenings last week in January.
