after all that time? Find out in PlayTime Productions’ unique modern take on the classic Brothers Grimm tale.The noted local children’s traveling theatre brings Sleeping Beauty to life with a contemporary twist. Just when you think the story is familiar, a new dimension appears.
Come see what unfolds in PlayTime Productions’ adaptation of the story for the children’s stage accompanied by an original musical score.Sleeping Beauty will be performed at 17 Dane County venues this fall at a low cost for the entire family. A donation of $3 or less per person is suggested at most venues.
PlayTime Productions creates community theatre by children, for children. Since 1979, its all-youth casts (ages 8-15) have enchanted audiences around Dane County with original theatrical versions of classic fairy tales and other stories like The Red Shoes, The Little Match Girl, Ali Baba, Cinderella. Founded by the late Teddy Studt, PlayTime Productions is dedicated to bringing “a little magic” into the lives of the 5,000 Dane County residents who attend PlayTime’s productions each year.Sleeping Beauty is supported in part by a grant from American Girl’s Fund for Children; and this project is supported by Dane Arts with additional funding from the Pleasant T. Rowland Foundation, and is funded in part by a grant from the Madison Arts Commission, with additional funds from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
