Grab your bike, your scooter, roller skates, or just put on your favorite walking shoes! There’s a new summer tradition in Madison, one where you can enjoy dance and celebrate the last days of summer together but with safety and physical distancing in mind.

Shifting Gears creates informal and temporary performance spaces in the park and green spaces along the fantastic bike paths in Madison: Wirth Court Park, McPike Park, and the Olin Park Vantage. So get a little exercise, enjoy the beautiful outdoors along the bike paths, and witness a stunning array of local dance groups with us. There will be plenty of interactive family friendly fun to be had for all!

Tania Tandias Flamenco & Spanish Dance, DanzTrad, Scratch Dance, Sexe Dance, Maritess Escueta, Juan Carlos Diaz Velez, Swing State Aerial, Trinity Irish Dance, Aubry Dalley, Amy Slater, Breckenridge Highland Dance, M.A.T.H., Katherine Kramer, Kalaanjali, Breakthrough Dance Company, Red Herrings, Yaqi Wu, and Julian McCown-Berndt.

The Isthmus Dance collective brings you the Shifting Gears Bike Path Dance Festival with generous support from Dane Arts as well as local businesses Working Draft Beer Company, Megna Painting, Jendusa Design & Engineering, & Forteco.
