Seven Ages Theatricals presents Shakespeare's Hamlet
By William Shakespeare
Directed by Tom Berger
Seven Ages Theatricals is thrilled to present William Shakespeare’s Hamlet this summer at Sheboygan’s City Green, the beautiful venue in the heart of downtown. Widely considered one of the greatest plays ever written, Hamlet tells the story of the troubled “Mad Prince” of Denmark as he seeks revenge against his uncle who, after murdering Hamlet’s father, wed the young prince’s mother Gertrude.
7AT is returning to the stage where they first brought free outdoor Shakespeare to Sheboygan with last year’s production of The Tempest. Starring in the lead role is Manitowoc native Darrick Bruns, with Larry Marcus as Claudius, Molly DeWayne as Gertrude, Jack Colombo as Horatio, and Morgan Bramstedt as Ophelia. Seven Ages Executive Artistic Director Tom Berger serves as the director.
Admission to Hamlet is completely free to the community, though donations are appreciated. City Green will have some chairs in supply but patrons are encouraged to bring a lawn chair for maximum comfort and seating towards the front fills up quickly so early attendance is encouraged. The show will be presented July 8th and 9th beginning at 7 p.m. and July 10th at 2 p.m. Audiences should be aware that Hamlet contains some violent imagery and characters struggling deeply with mental health, including mentions of ideation of suicide. The play is recommended for ages 14 and up. More information can be found on 7AT’s Facebook page or by emailing sevenagestheatricals@gmail.com.
