Modern version of the classic Puccini opera, "La bohème." Jonathan Larson's "RENT" was groundbreaking, changing the face of Broadway and musical theatre forever. The rock opera deals with controversial and adult subject matters but the message of the show is about love and the importance of love in all of our lives.
This show deals with mature language and topics. Parental Discretion Advised.

Production Dates: May 11 -19, 2012There are two audition dates to choose from, you only need to come to one. The director plans to do callbacks at the end of each audition night. Those auditioning should prepare 32-bars of a rock musical or a traditional rock song. Please DO NOT audition with a selection from the show. An accompanist will be provided BUT please bring sheet music in the correct key. A CD player is NOT provided, if that is your accompaniment. Also, be prepared to move. The director/choreographer will teach everyone a short combination for auditions.
“RENT” deals with a lot of mature/adult content. Due to this, the director is looking to cast 18 years or older BUT we will allow anyone 16 years and up to audition. If under the age of 18, parental permission will be required.
Scripts are available for a forty-eight hour loan at the Theatre Company’s office in the Community Recreation Department. To check out a script, you will need to put a $20 deposit down, which is refunded as soon as the script is returned (cash and check only). Scripts may be picked up Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and must be returned by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26.
