Reading of play to be produced in June at the Bartell Theater. This is the penultimate draft. The playwrights welcome constructive suggestions and responses. We will read for about 50 minutes, take a break, read the rest of the play and then discuss.

A journey of a thousand years can be destroyed with a single misstep.

Aboard the intergalactic spaceship "Harkness," the library's on fire, the hibernating crew is defrosting uncontrollably, and the attending robot is starting to sound like John Wayne. The five surviving crew members clash over what awaits them when they land on New Day--the message sent by the resident aliens was a little vague. But if the crew has any hope of survival, they must adapt to their rapidly changing circumstances--or die trying.
