Madison Opera is once again proud to present the annual Opera in the Park concert. In what has become a much beloved Madison summer tradition, Opera in the Park features familiar opera hits, the best of Broadway, as well as musical highlights from the upcoming Madison Opera mainstage season. Performed by the outstanding talents of the Madison Opera Chorus, the Madison Symphony Orchestra, and some of opera’s brightest stars, Opera in the Park is a FREE community event perfect for audiences of ALL ages!

Performance Times: ONE NIGHT ONLY! Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 8:00pm (Rain Date: Sunday, July 27, 2008 at 8:00pm) PARKING: General public parking will be available in CUNA and University Research Park. Ample handicapped parking will be located on both sides of S. Rosa Road, part of Driftwood, and in one of the parking areas in the CUNA lot. There is a drop-off area located on S. Rosa Road. Volunteers in golf carts will be available to drive individuals requiring assistance from the drop-off area to an appropriate location from which to view the concert. Those needing assistance after the concert will be driven out after the rush of foot-traffic has subsided. OTHER INFORMATION: Attendees may lay down blankets/tarps beginning at 7:00am Saturday morning. Alcohol is permitted in the park, but glass containers are not. All chairs are permitted in the park, though low chairs are encouraged. Tents are not permitted. Light sticks will be sold for $1. Programs are free, and both items will be located at tables under green and white striped awnings. Beverages will be sold at the event, and The Chocolate Shoppe will sell ice cream products. The concert will end at approximately 10:30pm.
