After 30 years of dedicated service, Dr Augustus Stone is retiring as library director. The head librarian, Nelly Arcan is convinced she's going to be the new library director, does the search committee agree with her? What does the future hold for the rest of the staff? How will this news be received? Is it true that the wealthy Russian entrepreneur and philanthropist Nikolia Uspensky will be announcing a large endowment to the library? Can the library employees be trusted around that much money? Will Eli find his lost screwdriver?
