Last Days of a Translator

By Marc Kornblatt

Directed by David Saperstein

WINNER OF THE 2007 ALLEY STAGE PLAY COMPETITION
Sponsored in part by the Wisconsin Arts Board, with funds from the State of Wisconsin

A young typist is assigned a job with an irascible, old man who translates business letters. All the young man has to do is introduce himself for things to turn sour, because the young man has a German surname and the translator is a Holocaust survivor.

Four unlikely characters come together in this moving drama. Forced by circumstance to inhabit a common space, they discover truths about themselves and each other.
