HARRY POTTER and the PET ROCK

By Nick Schweitzer

Directed by Sam D. White

The gang from Hogwarts gets the holiday “panto” treatment! Loaded with slapstick humor, corny jokes, and silly song parodies, this original twist on the beloved tale of the boy wizard will delight kids and adults alike. Cheering for the heroes and booing for the baddies is strongly encouraged in this family-friendly holiday treat!

All roles are open. Roles will be cast race- and gender-blind

At auditions, actors will read from the script and then be asked to participate in some theatre games and perhaps sing a little ditty (sheet music is not required), and HAVE FUN!!! Please dress to move and bring water. Strong improv skills are especially critical for this show and will weigh heavily in casting.

While this is not a "traditional" musical, there will be songs performed (to be chosen/created with input from the cast). Actors with singing skills are especially encouraged to audition. PLEASE TELL US IF YOU PLAY AN INSTRUMENT!

Rehearsals will begin October 31st (initial weeks will include table work where actors will be asked to develop character ideas, script changes, add jokes and music, etc.) The final script is fluid and all actors will work on enhancing the author's work, with his participation.
