Introducing a new opera theatre in Madison! Fresco Opera Theatre. Fresco Opera Theatre strives to bring the beauty of operatic music to current opera fans and also to cultivate a new generation of opera lovers by presenting opera from a modern perspective. Our purpose is to present opera in a fresh assessable way by producing creative versions of operas, new works, themed concerts, scene programs, condensed versions of larger works, and fully staged productions.

Dueling Divas is the title of our first event.

The opera gloves are coming off!
Fresco Opera Theatre presents its first event.
Watch opera singers battling against each other for the title of Diva Champion.
Each singer will prepare excerpts from their repertoire that showcase their talents in specific categories.
This would include categories such as most brilliant high note and best cadenza.
Each singer who advances in their category will also prepare a full aria to perform at the end of the evening for the championship match. One diva or divo will be left standing to claim victory and reign supreme.
