Cheeseheads, the Musical

Based on the Wisconsin Cheese Factory Lottery winners. The story is a comedic telling of a small family owned cheese factory in SHEBOYGAN, WISCONSIN who has been bought out by the big corporate Conglomerated Cheese. The close-knit work force does their best to stay the course and hope for the best.

All those auditioning should prepare two contrasting 32 bar songs. There is no chorus for this show; every part in the show has their own character.
Also, everyone auditioning should prepare to tell a joke. This is a fun show, and we want to make sure that everyone is able to have a good sense of humor.
If callbacks are needed, there may be some reading from the script.
Though the selection process does imply some competition, it is made as pleasant as possible.
The show calls for a cast of two women between the ages of 20-40 and five men ages 18-60.CHARACTERS:
•Dan – He is the old guard on the production line and supervisor. Gregarious, welcoming, and the organizer of the lotto purchases.
•Doc Muenster – The head cheese culturist of the factory. Works mostly in the back room and make occasional appearances. Always trying to perfect the perfect cheese and resents Bob always keeping him on task to focus on production.
•Bobby – Young man with who left Sheboygan as a football star and came back ‘searching.’ Tends to date a lot of different women.
•Thursday – Quirky, young man who doesn’t speak. He sort of acts like the narrator of the story and is the unofficial caretaker, of sorts, of the company.
•Gizmo – He is a worker on the evening shift who is obsessed with electronics/technology of all sorts.
•Natalie – She is a bit nerdy and shy, stays on task. She has always had a crush on Bobby, but has never had the courage to be more than just friends.
•Melanie – She is a corporate process specialist, brought in to trim the fat and make things more efficient.
Scripts are available for a forty-eight hour loan at the Theatre Company’s office in the Community Recreation Department. They may be picked up Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and must be returned by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25."Cheeseheads, the Musical” will run from March 16 to 24, 2011.
