Bullying: The Musical

"Bullying: The Musical" is a new work tackling a pressing social issue with a creative approach and an all-youth cast. The script will be based on workshops conducted with area youth in Fall, 2010. A TAPIT/new works production, "Bullying: The Musical" will be directed by UW graduate student and spoken work artist, Lorraine Jaki-Terry, written by Danielle Dresden, choreographed by Donna Peckett, and will feature a live band. Performances are scheduled Friday, March 11, 2011, at the Barrymore Theatre, with a 10:00 AM school matinee for 4th-5th and middle school students and a 7:30 PM performance for the general public.

We are seeking high school students to audition for this new musical. There may be other opportunities to work on this production. Music and dance training a plus. Acting experience a real plus, though no experience can work, too. A strong commitment to collaborative theater work and sincere interest in the topic of “bullying.”
Rehearsals begin in January 2011.
