A Christmas Carol
By Charles Dickens (adapted by Paul Steinbach)
Directed by Nancy Storrs and Paul Steinbach
Like no other adaptation of Dickens, this stageplay is delightfully up close, personal, and charming in ways that others are overdone... The simplicity, elegance, and clean retelling of the holiday classic is perfect for families and those who simply can't wait for their next dose of Dickens. Save the drive to Milwaukee, avoid parking hassles, enjoy fresh baked treats at intermission (beginning at just $1) and instead choose to see this fresh take on everyone's holiday favorite.
The classic ghost story of remorse and redemption, "A Christmas Carol" comes to life in West Bend again this holiday season, with a nine-performance run spanning two weekends in December.
Director Nancy Storrs has re-imagined the production she introduced to the area in 2010 with fresh faces, and fresh visuals, updated costumes, and new staging.
An intimate setting, the West Bend Masonic Center is again transformed into a Victorian-era London streetscape for local writer Paul Steinbach's faithful stage adaptation of the popular Charles Dickens novella published in 1843. With a talented cast virtually within arms length of the first rows, audiences will no doubt be touched by the portrayals of such time-honored characters as Ebenezer Scrooge, Jacob Marley, Bob Cratchit, and Tiny Tim.
Join the company in body and spirit - but don't delay. Just 150 tickets will be sold for each performance.
