2023-2024 Season - Adult General Auditions

THE WIZ – Musical (Motown, Soul, Gospel). Performs Oct 6-22, 2023 in Overture Center’s Playhouse. Rehearsals start Sept. 5th. Specifically seeking Black/African-American actors. 6-8 Adults.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL – Non-musical; some roles sing. Performs Dec. 9-23, 2023 in the Overture Center’s Capitol Theater. Rehearsals start Nov. 7th. 13 Adults.

THE LIGHTNING THIEF: THE PERCY JACKSON MUSICAL – Pop Rock Musical. Performs March 2-17, 2024 in MYArts’ Starlight Theater. Rehearsals begin Jan. 30th. 5 Adults.

THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK – Non-musical. Performs May 4 – 19, 2024 in The Overture Center’s Playhouse. Rehearsals begin April 2, 2024. Especially seeking Jewish actors. 9 Adults.

Auditions

Auditions will be held on the following days:

CTM (Children’s Theater of Madison) welcomes adult actors to audition for our upcoming season! If you or someone you know would like to be considered for any show, please visit https://ctmtheater.org/get-involved/audition-for-shows to sign up for a time. Auditions will be June 11th & 12th in person at MYArts, 1055 East Mifflin St., Madison.

Video audition submissions are also welcome – send to auditions@ctmtheater.org

What to prepare. You may do one OR both of the following:
• Prepare ONE of these: A short monologue from a play or musical; a poem or spoken word piece; a short “once upon a time” story (Under 2 minutes)
AND/OR
• 16-32 bars of a song from a contemporary musical, pop rock or Motown. You may use Bluetooth “karaoke” tracks or bring sheet music clearly marked; accompanist provided. (Under 1 minute!)

We invite performers with all levels of experience and specializations – dancers, singers, musicians, spoken word artists… as well as traditionally trained actors. Please go to this link for more information on performing at CTM.

Roles are available in all shows. Adult actors are compensated. Housing is available for a limited number of out of town artists. We welcome all gender identifications to audition for any role.
