1776

By Peter Stone & Sherman Edwards

Directed by Tim Riley

1776, the musical, explores the meaning of 'America'. Winner of five Tony Awards on Broadway. Music by songwriter and historian Sherman Edwards. It presents our founding fathers (and a few mothers) as human beings who argued, bitched, belched, and were so lonely for home and loved ones that they could barely think, yet they still managed to achieve something unprecedented at the time; they created a new world order in their image.

1776 explores in largely historically correct detail an event for which we already know the outcome; the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
