The Marquis Crossing Ladies Society's First Attempt at Murder
By Pat Cook
Directed by Susan Maasz
The Marquis Crossing Ladies Society for the Arts decide to write their own murder-mystery play when they find out they have to pay royalties to do someone else's play. The ladies find themselves writing an operatic murder mystery dinner theatre with possible audience participation, providing no one sells fruit to the audience. While the writing is taking place, two escaped convicts decide the best place to hide out from the law is with the ladies---who drag the convicts into the play. By the way, drag is the appropriate term since the convicts decide they can escape the house unnoticed if they dress as women. The first weekend is a dinner theatre catered by Evan Topel of Underwood Market. The second weekend is dessert and show.
