The Man Who Came to Dinner

By George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart

Directed by Lynda Sharpe

Sheridan Whiteside, also know as Sherry, is who this circus of a play revolves around, and is caused by. He's a playwright, novelist, radio commentator, celebrity connoisseur, and internationally worshipped Famous Person who, on taking up a dinner invitation at the home of the unassuming Stanleys, slips on their icy doorstep and fractures his hip. During his six-week stay, Sherry turns the Stanley's home into a madhouse - overrun by celebrities, ex-convicts, a national radio broadcast in the living room, and extravagant gifts like penguins, 10,000 pet cockroaches, and a sarcophagus; banning his hosts to the upper floor. There is also a twisted love story and plenty of backstabbing, making this 1920s show a real must to see.
