By Richard Brinsley Sheridan
Thinking it romantic to forfeit her inheritance, Lydia Languish falls in love with Ensign Beverly whom she believes a penniless military man. With this basic premise and a cast of kooky characters (including the famously verbose Mrs. Malaprop) the comedy catapults to a crescendo. Two duels are narrowly averted and a jealous lover is taught the value of trust before Lydia realizes that true love is preferable to romantic sentimentality. Featuring Sarah Day and Jonathan Smoots.
