Rigoletto

By Giuseppi Verdi

John DeMain, Music Director/Conductor

Elizabeth Bachman, Stage Director

Rigoletto has remained one of the most enduringly popular operas since its immediate success in 1851. Rigoletto, a hunchback, is an embattled jester in the court of the Duke of Mantua. He is alone in the world except for his beautiful daughter, Gilda, whom he is determined to protect from the cruelly amorous caprices of the Duke. Rigoletto's obsessive fatherly devothion leads indirectly to what he fears the most, and this irony catapults the story to its tragic end.

Featuring Brian Montgomery as Rigoletto and Amy Cochrane as Gilda.
