A Cinderella Story

A one-act contemporary piece telling the story of four African-American girls coming of age in Macon, Georgia, sometime in the early to mid '80s. As they revisit the story of Cinderella, retelling it in their own terms, these young women grapple with issues of beauty, acceptance, and blackness. The fairy tale of Cinderella, as seen through their eyes, will capture the beauty in all of us.
