The mission of Wisconsin Association of Community Theatre is to foster and encourage the development of the highest standards of community theatres in Wisconsin, including standards of excellence for production, management, governance, community relations, and service to the community and state. We strive to increase communication among theatres and provide educational forums and performance opportunities for Wisconsin's community theatres.
WACT is a member of the American Association of Community Theatre.
Wisconsin Community Theatre Association Festival 2009
The River Arts Center in Prairie du Sac will be the site of the Wisconsin Association of Community Theatre’s biennial AACTFest 2009. The Sauk Prairie Theatre Guild will host the festival on February 27 – March 1, 2009. Actual performances will be on Saturday, February 28, rehearsals on Friday, February 27, and awards will be given on Sunday, March 1, 2009. This competitive festival will follow the guidelines of the American Association of Community Theatre. The guidelines provide a participating company with a ten-minute set up time, a sixty-minute performance time, and a ten-minute strike time prior to public adjudication by three theatre experts. One or two shows will be selected to represent Wisconsin at the Region III AACTFest in South Bend, IN, on April 17-19, 2009
Although participating companies must be Wisconsin Community Theatres, the performances, adjudications, and social activities are open to the public for a registration fee.
