Verona Area Community Theater

Verona Area Community Theater, Inc., offers the Verona, Wisconsin, area community opportunities to participate in and enjoy all facets of community theater. The mission for VACT, Inc., is to support productions and projects that augment and enhance the artistic experience for all who participate whether on stage, behind the scenes or in the audience. These productions are understood to be occasions to refine skills, learn new ones, and have fun. It is an organization goal to offer affordable access to theater to the wider community and to provide educational activities for Verona area residents in all aspects of staging theatrical productions.

Current Class Listings

Play Production (Grades 7-12) - starts 7/23/12

What:
Experience all elements of a theater production from set building and costume design to acting and vocal techniques. Collaborate to make the decisions that directors and producers make when working on a show. During this one week express workshop, we will produce a one-act play production. Even if you have never been in a show before, EVERYONE who signs up for this theater workshop will be part of this show! Improve your acting skills and perform for your friends and family!
o (Show will be selected after participants have signed up in order to accommodate for cast size, etc.)

When:
July 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 (9am-12pm) each day.

Performance for Friends and Family:
July 27th @ 6pm (Actors should arrive at Building by 3pm for final rehearsal and dinner)

Students in grades 7-12

Where:
Verona Area Community Theater Building, 405 Bruce Street, Verona, WI
Directed by Marsha Heuer
- 9 year VACT member; licensed Middle and High School Teacher and
certified Drama & Theater Teacher

Cost:
$120 (includes personal script, Play T-shirt; 17 mentored hours of rehearsal time & pizza dinner before performance)

Musical Theater Dance (grades 7-12) - starts 8/6/12

What:
 Learn 5 chorus dance numbers from different musicals to perform for friends and family. Each day of our workshop, you will learn a brand new chorus number from a different musical – learn basic tap (soft shoe) styles, jazz, ballet and most importantly – BROADWAY! Help your body learn and remember choreographed moves so that you feel confident at your auditions! 

When:
 August 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 (9am-12pm) each day.

Performance for Friends and Family:
 August 10th @ 6pm (Performers should arrive at Building by 3pm for final rehearsal and dinner)

Who:
 Students in grades 7-12

 Verona Area Community Theater Building, 405 Bruce Street, Verona, WI
 Choreographed/Directed by Marsha Heuer
9 year VACT member; licensed Middle and High School Teacher and certified Drama & Theater Teacher

Cost:
 $120 (includes 5 specialized choreographed numbers; a CD of Broadway songs for performance and fun; a VACT T-Shirt; 16 mentored hours of rehearsal time & pizza dinner before performance)
