Miracle i nJanesville; the tale of the white buffalo
In the Evjue Theatre
By Bernie Strand
Directed by Becky Weber-Johnson
Miracle in Janesville by Bernie Strand was inspired by the birth of a white buffalo, Miracle, in August of 1994. Native American tradition tells of the white buffalo that will bring peace & change to the world. Through characters that represent real people, and an amalgamation of people, Strand explores the effects of the white buffalo’s birth as fulfillment of that prophesy, on individuals and groups of people alike. The story is told through the eyes of a boy who is a neighbor of the Heider family, Miracle’s caretakers, with many of Miracle’s visitors speaking of the change Miracle brought to their lives
