Welcome to the Neighborhood

By Steven Stack

Directed by Steven Stack

“Welcome to the Neighborhood” is an allegory for the pressure teenagers face to conform. It tells the story of Chloe, the new girl in a neighborhood where things are not what they seem. What begins as an innocent slumber party develops into a chilling standoff as Chloe faces a decision that will define her for the rest of her life.

The underlying theme of this play is the constant pressure that teens feel to “fit in” by becoming like everyone else. The play’s overall tone and pacing suggest a “Twilight Zone” episode.
