The Threepenny Opera

Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill based their masterpiece on The Beggar's Opera, a work popular in the eighteenth century. The Threepenny Opera explores the evils of post-industrial capitalism through the story of gang leader and Don Juan figure Mack the Knife. The fully staged production, directed by Kurt Ollmann with music direction by William Lavonis, features UW-Milwaukee voice and theatre students and a full student orchestra conducted by Motoaki Kashino.
