The Kathie Rasmussen Women's Theater (KRASS) invites English- and Spanish-speaking women to audition for its fall show, "The Storytelling Women Project."

Director Heather Renken will select eight or nine women for an original theatrical storytelling project. Under Ms. Renken's guidance and with assistance from several playwrights, the storytellers will meet approximately weekly in September to formulate a script. They will rehearse more frequently in October and early November and perform six times over two weekends beginning Friday, November 5 (see schedule below).

WHO: Any woman from teens to 100 may audition in your native language of either English or Spanish. No previous theatrical experience is necessary.

WHAT: Prepare a 3-5 minute story about how the current economic recession is affecting you and/or your family. Please bring your calendar of conflicts to auditions. An effort will be made to accommodate women with demanding schedules or childcare constraints but too many conflicts may limit your involvement.

WHEN: Auditions are Tuesday & Wednesday, September 7 & 8 at 7pm. If  you cannot attend either time, email artistic@madwomenstage.org

SPANISH SPEAKERS: We will provide a translator but you also may bring your own translator. However, we regret we are unable to offer compensation.

TEENS: Anyone younger than 18 must have written permission from a parent stipulating that they are allowed to participate in all meetings, rehearsals, and performances in their entirety, and are able to provide their own transportation.

TRANSLATORS: This is our first bilingual project and we don't yet have a large number of Spanish speakers so if you are bilingual and can help with translation, please let us know.

CHILDCARE:  If childcare is an issue for you, please let us know and we will brainstorm solutions.

Audición para “El Proyecto de las Mujeres que Cuentan Cuentos”

El Teatro de Mujeres Kathie Rasmussen (KRASS) invita a las mujeres tanto de habla Inglés como de habla Español a una audición para su obra este otoño, “El Proyecto de las Mujeres que Cuentan Cuentos”.

La Directora Heather Renken seleccionará entre ocho a nueve mujeres para un original proyecto teatral que consiste en narrar cuentos. Bajo la tutoría de Heather Renken, y contando con el apoyo de muchas autoras, las narradoras se reunirán aproximadamente cada ocho días durante el mes de Septiembre con el fin de formular el guión. Además, participarán en ensayos más frecuentes durante el mes de Octubre y principios del mes de Noviembre. Las narradoras presentarán la obra un total de seis veces durante dos fines de semanas comenzando con el viernes, el 5 de Noviembre (ver la programación que se encuentra abajo).

QUIÉNES: No se requiere experiencia previa. Toda mujer, desde las adolescentes hasta las ancianitas, está invitada a participar en la audición en su lengua materna.

QUÉ: Favor de preparar un cuento de 3 a 5 minutos de duración sobre cómo la actual recesión económica le está afectando a usted y/o a su familia. Favor de llevar a la audición su calendario para buscar una solución a cualquier conflicto que tenga con la programación de los ensayos. Se hará todo esfuerzo para acomodar agendas demandantes y otras limitaciones que surjan por sus obligaciones de cuidar a sus hijos menores, sin embargo demasiados conflictos con su agenda personal podrían resultar en limitar su participación.

CUÁNDO: Las audiciones se llevarán a cabo el martes y el miércoles el 7 y el 8 de Septiembre a las 7:00 p.m.

LAS PERSONAS DE HABLA ESPAÑOL: Proveeremos a un traductor, o bien puede llevar a su propio traductor. Sentimos informarle que no podemos ofrecer compensación monetaria.

ADOLESCENTES: Es obligatorio que cualquier persona menor de 18 años tenga el permiso por escrito de un padre de familia para participar en todas las reuniones, ensayos, y en las presentaciones.
