PlayTime Productions presents the delightful Kenneth Grahame tale about a youngster who befriends a peace-loving dragon as a famed dragon slayer arrives to rid the area of this so-called menace. Through camaraderie and diplomacy people come to accept the amiable RELUCTANT DRAGON. Family audiences of all ages will fondly view the friendship created between a prudent youngster and a not so ferocious beast as the two adventure through interesting social encounters enlivened by PlayTime’s drama, song and dance. Young children and their families will enjoy many funny sequences as the dragon’s personality is revealed and the threat turns out to be just hot air. PlayTime Productions inflates this classic tale to life at 15 Dane County venues at low cost for the entire family.

Celebrating twenty-five years plus of children’s theatre, PlayTime Productions has been captivating audiences with creative and spirited renditions of classic tales for the family stage with musical theatre for kids, by kids. Many past cast members have gone onto successful careers in the Arts. Others took what they learned from PlayTime into various professions. Some alumni have returned to serve as PTP staff and volunteers and several have had their own children cast in the plays. In fact this season’s dragon is a second-generation cast member. Even more surprising, now the granddaughter of our founding director is in our spring cast. Talk about going full circle in over twenty-five years!
