The Nutcracker

Directed by Coleen Kehl

It is Christmas Eve at the Silberhaus home, and a lavish celebration is underway. Guests have arrived and are about to toast the lighting of the tree when a knock on the door announces the arrival of the mysterious and magical Uncle Drosselmeyer. His magic begins with dancing dolls, gifts for all the children, and a Nutcracker for Clara. After the party ends and the guests have gone home, Clara returns to the Christmas tree to find her beloved Nutcracker. Falling asleep on the couch, she dreams that mice are stealing the presents led by the wicked Mouse Queen. Toy soldiers, under the command of the Nutcracker defend the frightened Clara. The battle ends and the Snow Queen summons Clara and her Nutcracker to the Land of Sweets. The Christmas Angels tell the Sugar Plum Fairy of their arrival, and Clara is appointed Princess. Clara is entertained by dancing dolls from all parts of the world. Clara and her Nutcracker are transported back to her home in a grand sleigh.
