The Bachelors

By Rick Kinnebrew & Martha Meyer

Directed by Andrew Lonsdale

The Bachelors, a new stage play by Rick Kinnebrew and Martha Meyer, following a successful reading of a screenplay version in June of last year, returns to Mineral Point for 2014.
Based on a true story, The Bachelors introduces us to Bob Neal, a London interior decorator who returns to his failing Wisconsin hometown of Mineral Point in 1934 and hires a local man, Edgar Hellum, to help him restore a historic rock cottage. It is a humorous and touching look at a life two men spend together. Their restoration anchors what has become a thriving artistic community in Mineral Point today.

Roles are:
William Gundry - 70's, wealthy, owner of Orchard Lawn
Bob Neal - 30's, gay, freshly back from London
Edgar Hellum - 30's, muscular, builder/carpenter
Marjorie King & Hat Lady - 60's, wealthy, sister of William
Betty Cass & Sally - 30's, writer for Madison Day by Day
Aunt Nelly - 60's, Bob's aunt from Dubuque
