Opiate of the Missus & The Great Vindaloo

By Doug Reed & Philip Heckman

Directed by Deanna Reed

Actor’s Factory has been bringing bold new theater to the stage of the Stoughton Opera House since 2003.

We all have things we say we believe in, but how do we react when those things turn out to be true? In Doug Reed's "Opiate Of The Missus" a McCarthy era congressman runs for re-election on a platform of fighting Godless Communism. God throws a wrench into things -- by making an appearance.

"The Great Vindaloo" by Philip Heckman depicts the connection between two men of different worlds, each under attack, each unable to find the means to defend himself. In times of despair, can you look for inspiration in the lives of others?  But if someone in search of inspiration looks to you for their survival, then you hope the lifeline works both ways.
