ACTRESS needed to play lead role in “Old Befana”, an original musical by Madison’s Ken Lonnquist. PAID POSITION on a per-show basis. Performances fall between Thanksgiving and mid-January. Actress will join a 5 actor-musician traveling troupe, bringing the show to schools, performance venues and churches around Wisconsin, Chicago and Minneapolis-St. Paul. Number of performances varies annually from 10 25 shows. NO PERFORMANCES on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, New Years Eve or New Years Day. MOST of our performances are day-trips… we usually end the day back home!

The other troupe members are veterans of the show and have their parts “down”. Actress chosen will work with script, recordings (live and studio) and videos to study her part, and work in advance of group-rehearsals with Ken Lonnquist. Group rehearsals are generally limited in number, from mid-October through November.

ACTRESS should:
- be 18 years or older; maturity an asset!
have strong singing-vocal ability
display emotional range (comedic to poignant)
be willing/able to share load in, set up and tearing down of sets, props & equipment (and be a “trouper”).
Prepare a brief monologue (1 minute or less) and a song to sing accapella or with guitar accompaniment.
Email ken@kenland.com for script pages in preparation for the audition; we’ll also send an mp3 of a song we’d like to hear in your audition.

No instrumental skills necessary.
