Lone Star
By James McLure
Directed by Russell Wolff
Lone Star is a raucous one act comedy set in the 1970's post Vietnam Era in Texas. It is an intoxicated trip of ups and downs for Roy, Ray, and Cletis as the night unfolds behind Angel's bar. The cast consists of three male characters in their mid to late 20's. Roy is a Vietnam vet who voted for Nixon, likes John Wayne movies, and thinks Raquel Welch is a great actress. He loves three things in this world. His wife, his country, and his 1959 pink Thunderbird convertible. Ray is Roy's younger brother who admires all of his brothers exploits and is naive in the ways of the world. Cletis is Ray's friend and the son of the local hardware store owner. He married the first women that slept with him and is despised by Roy. This show will be featured as the second play in an evening of one acts produced by Sun Prairie Civic Theater.
