Auditions

Auditions will be held on the following days:

Looking to cast approximately 8 teenagers (ages 13-19) for an original live performance art event. The work will take place in a gallery setting, for one night only, over the course of three hours with each teen doing an individual performance for one audience member at a time. No previous performance experience necessary. Looking for youth who enjoy working in a collaborative environment and are interested in experimental theatre and performance art. This new work is about vulnerability, generosity and the mystery that comes with partnering up/ dueting. LGBTQ teens are strongly encouraged to audition.

PERFORMANCE

Saturday, April 28th, 7:00-10:00 pm at the Commonwealth Gallery, 100 S. Baldwin St., 3rd Floor, Madison. Free and open to the public.

To audition, RSVP: marinayvonne@gmail.com Report at 6:30 pm on either Sunday, February 26th or Tuesday, February 28th at TAPIT/ new works Ensemble Theatre building located at 1957 Winnebago Street on the near east side of Madison.

The audition will be run as a workshop, with participants engaging in vocal and movement warm-ups as well as improvised performances. Please wear clothing comfortable for movement and sitting on the floor. Please bring a song (on cd or mp3 player) that has personal resonance or meaning for you. Be prepared to speak for 1-2 minutes about what you appreciate about the song.

PLEASE NOTE: Photo/ Video release & parent/ guardian consent forms must be submitted prior to auditioning. Forms available at marinaykelly.com Please return these forms ahead of time (to 29 Waubesa St. Madison, WI 53704) or simply bring them to the audition.

REHEARSALS

Some of the rehearsals (3) will be scheduled after the auditions, based on the scheduling needs of the chosen participants. These will be in addition to the mandatory tech/ dress rehearsals listed below:

Sunday 4/15, 7-9 pm, Tuesday 4/17, 7-9 pm and Friday 4/27, 7-9 pm (all at the Commonwealth Gallery).

Performance night call time: Saturday 4/28, 5 pm @ the Commonwealth Gallery.
