The story of a family whose life is show biz, specifically the traveling live shows of vaudeville in the 1920s & 30s. We see the hardships and sacrifices of a life in show business as ambitious Mama Rose dreams of "making it big" and pushes her two daughters to perform onstage. Musical of the stage mother from hell made famous by Ethel Merman and her two performing daughters.
