Bridge to Terabithia

By Katherine Paterson, Stephen S. Tolan, Steve Leibman

Directed by Sara Pillatzki-Warzeha

La Crosse Community Theatre presents its summer Theatre for Youth Production, Bridge to Terabithia.

Jesse Aarons is a shy boy who dreams of being an artist. Leslie Burke, an outgoing but unpopular new girl in town, introduces him to a world of imagination. Together they create Terabithia, a fantasy kingdom where their friendship grows as Jesse’s world expands. When tragedy strikes, he finds the strength to carry on and share the magic with others. This powerful musical adaptation Stephen S. Tolan, with music by Steve Liebman, focuses the humor, warmth, and emotional intensity of Katherine Paterson’s Newbery Award-winning novel into a deeply moving theatrical event.

The cast includes Spencer Solberg as Jesse Aarons, Courtney Peterson as Leslie Burke, Grace Edwards as May Belle Aarons, Kori Ann Baer as Mrs. Aarons, Liam Conzemius as Mr. Aarons, Parker Blumentritt as Brenda Aarons, Emma Greeno as Janice Avery, Rachel Schoenecker as Miss Edmunds, Matthew Lind as Gary Fulcher. Schoolchildren are played by Marty Backstrand, Mason Gates, Sterling Jacob Meyer, Brock Sullivan, Hannah Reischl, Rubie Stetzer, Grace Ward, and Anya Westrich.

Production team includes scenic design by Brian Warzeha, costume design by Mandy Parmeter, lighting design by Matt Herro, and music direction by Sarah Leitzen.
