Happy Birthday Alice! Join JPAC's Creative Kids in celebrating the 150th anniversary of Lewis Carroll's captivating and whimsical children's book "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland." Follow Alice and down the rabbit hole as she explores the enchanting and nonsensical world of Wonderland and encounters the charming inhabitants. This production will be "Created by Kids" during JPAC's Creative Kids Summer Camp. We'll see you in Wonderland!

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland: A Production "Created by Kids"

Come with us to Wonderland! Join JPAC's Creative Kids in celebrating the 150th anniversary of Lewis Carroll's captivating and whimsical children's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. In June, a small Creation Team of young artists will create and adapt a play script from Carroll's original story as well as design sets, props, and costumes for the production. The Creation Team will be selected by invitation only. If you are interested in being a part of the creation team, please email Mindy Curtis at mindy@janesvillepac.org before May 29, 2015. During Summer Camp in July, a cast of young performers will rehearse memorize and perform this new script of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland on the historic JPAC stage. Rehearsals will take place from 1-3pm weekdays from July 6-July 24th, 2015 as a part of JPAC's Creative Kids Summer Camp. Performances will take place Friday July 24 at 7pm and July 25th at 2pm. Young performers must attend a guaranteed, no-risk audition to be a part of the cast of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland — All young performers who attend and complete an audition will be in the cast! In addition to being in the play, young actors will learn the fundamentals of acting, characterization, and theatrical performance. There is no reason to miss out on being a part of this unique and exciting theatrical experience!


Cast Audition Information:

All young performers interested performing in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland must attend an audition either Friday June 26 from 4-6pm or Saturday June 27 from 10:30am-12:30pm. Please come prepared to read and perform a short poem, passage from a book, monologue, tell a short story, or tell a joke. Being memorized is ideal but not required. You may also be asked to read lines for specific characters from the script. Auditions should be under two minutes total. Auditioners will be seen in the order in which they arrive and may arrive at any time during the open auditions — they will not need to stay the entire time. Auditions will take place at the Janesville Performing Arts Center at 408 S. Main St. In Janesville. The audition is a time for the directors to meet performers and find the role that best fits them in the show. All young performers who complete an audition will be a part of the cast. It is also a time to get information to parents, complete paperwork, and register for the camp. All registrations for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland must take place at auditions or after.
